Senior Advisory

When the business moves beyond the old answers.

An ongoing partner for leaders carrying important commercial decisions.

Start a conversation

What we can work through.

Sightline helps you work through growth, profitability, customer relationships and the organisation’s ability to deliver—together, around the decisions you need to make.

An independent commercial thinking partner for founders, CEOs and business leaders facing the next stage of their business.

Revenue is growing. Why is the business feeling weaker?

Look beneath the top line at customer and offer mix, price realisation, cost-to-serve, retention and delivery demands. Decide which growth to pursue, improve or leave behind.

The business has outgrown founder-led decisions. What needs to change?

Clarify which choices remain with the founder, which need stronger ownership elsewhere, and what commercial information and review rhythm will support them.

Where should our limited time and money go next?

Compare the commercial contribution, evidence, dependencies and resource demands of competing priorities. Make the trade-offs explicit.

A key customer or partner relationship is slipping. How should we respond?

Separate commercial terms, value delivered, stakeholder expectations and implementation problems before deciding how to rebuild the relationship.

Independent glass and steel structures follow a continuous direction alongside one another.

A relationship that follows the agenda.

We agree a working rhythm around the responsibilities you carry and the decisions ahead. Some questions need a concentrated conversation. Others benefit from returning to the evidence and the action as the business moves.

Decision sessions

Time to work through the choices, competing explanations and trade-offs that need your attention.

Preparation

Relevant commercial information and questions reviewed in advance, so the conversation starts with the issue rather than a status update.

Between conversations

The level of access, preparation and follow-up is agreed around the work. Support can include preparing for a customer conversation, reviewing an option or challenging a proposed commitment.

Review and follow-through

Return to what happened, what changed and whether the next decision needs a different response. We review the usefulness and scope of the relationship as priorities develop.

You retain executive authority and the business decision. Nic provides independent challenge, interpretation and recommendations. Analysis, facilitation with the wider team or direct operating responsibility is agreed explicitly where needed.

Helping a new leader set a direction for growth.

An incoming leader faced a business changed by acquisition: established consulting and analytics, new software capabilities and different views of where growth would come from. The task was to find a direction that made sense for customers and could win support across the combined business.

Working alongside the leader from within the product organisation, Nic brought customer, portfolio and commercial knowledge to those choices. Together they challenged assumptions about digital growth, worked through the role of new and established offers, and developed priorities the leader could take forward with the wider team.

What changed

A clearer leadership agenda for growth: which digital opportunities to back, how they fitted the existing business and where to focus the team.

Commercial experience. Independent judgement.

Nic Kaftan brings more than twenty years across innovation consulting, global accounts, portfolio decisions and international commercial leadership. His experience includes responsibility for a multi-country consulting and SaaS business of approximately US$11 million.

That commercial background is complemented by executive coaching education at Henley Business School and the ICF Associate Certified Coach credential. The relationship combines practical business experience with the ability to listen, challenge assumptions and help you reach your own judgement.

About Sightline

Agree the involvement the situation needs.

We begin with the responsibility you are carrying, the question that needs attention and what would make the support useful. We agree the agenda, preparation, access to information, involvement of others, confidentiality and commercial terms.

Where a question needs substantial research, analysis or work with the wider team, a consulting assignment can be agreed. Where the business needs direct operating leadership, a fractional or interim mandate is scoped separately, with clear authority and accountability.

Consulting

Bring the question before the answer is clear.

You do not need a finished brief. We start with your situation, what you want to achieve and whether Sightline is the right help.
